I wish the Spring season was overwhelmingly obvious but it still looks and feels like winter out there. I am hanging out in my glider right now wrapped up in the blanket Rosa made for me (and the baby). Have to wash clothes today, go to the post office and the grocery, get Brad’s hair trimmed and get ready for a birthday party. Looking forward to a hot shower and blowing out my hair. I hope you all are finding joy in whatever tasks you have to accomplish today. Or just stay put and continue to enjoy your bed, sofa, glider… That sounds nice too.

We live in a two bedroom apartment and the second bedroom is Brad’s office/guest bedroom, and now, /nursery. We didn’t need a ton of space for the nursery since we are using a co-sleeper in our bedroom instead of a crib for the first 6 months. Hopefully by the time the little one outgrows it, we will be out of this apartment and into something a bit roomier. Our nursery is just a pretty place to change her diapers and house all her tiny clothes and miscellaneous items, from blankets to books to lotions.

I bought the wall mirrors from Pier One (they often have pretty great sales on wall decor), they are sparkly and shiny, although my pictures may not show it. I looked everywhere for the shelf/hanger combo so I could display some of her dresses while having extra storage but I couldn’t find one – until I looked online at Walmart – $18 later, I was happy.

(don’t worry, we’re not naming her Brapollina, it’s just the moniker our family has given me and Brad:)

I bought the adorable giraffe lamp and shade from World Market, as well as the capiz pendant light.

I stalked Craigslist until I found the Ikea Hemnes dresser (a popular nursery changing table because of the large and deep drawers and classic style). I switched out the top four knobs with these from Anthropologie, to make it a bit more feminine.

And that’s it! On the other side of this wall are windows and the pull out couch and then to the left is Brad’s desk alcove/work space. It works for us and I am sure baby will not mind sharing the space… Brad doesn’t mind it either. I think he’s kind of in love with the fact that his man space now includes pink and gold and that he has fuschia baby shoes sitting on his desk.
5 more weeks!

Last weekend my sweet girlfriends threw me a beautiful baby shower and it was a blast! Sara, Rosa, Behnaz, Kata, thank you so much for making me feel so loved and giving me such a pretty day.

It was wonderful to see so many of my lovely friends – Carla, Christelle, Sara, Missy, Irene and everyone who came out – thank you for celebrating with me! And thank you husband for hanging out until all the gift opening awwwwes got underway. Oh my goodness and I got some awesome presents! Mom, thank you for my glider (Brad has claimed it as his) and Rosa, I will cherish the beautiful blanket you made for our little girl – you amaze me.

Thank you Sara for these gorgeous pictures, your photography skills make me jealous. Love you:)

And here’s my big ole belly at 33 weeks. The swelling arrived a couple weeks ago. Flip flops are the preferable shoe choice (although the straps still leave deep indentations) and I went to Macy’s yesterday to get a $15 wedding ring that fits my new sized fingers. We just finished our birthing classes this past Sunday and are feeling more prepared than ever. Only 6.5 weeks left… I am so excited!
And by the way, I have huge respect for pregnant bloggers who still post all the time, I don’t know how they do it. I am generally just beat and when I get home from work the last thing I want to do it get on the computer. I’m glad they do blog throughout their pregnancies though so I can read about how they are dealing with being pregnant, decorating their nurseries, etc. I am such a taker. I promise, I have kept little notes about all the prego posts I want to do – just haven’t finished, or started, drafting them yet…
And another by the way, one of the websites I obsessively read until I finished all the posts was The Glow. It’s like a pregnant lady’s guilty pleasure – that and a bowl of spicy spaghetti later followed by brownies dipped in hot chocolate.
xoxo

Gold tile in the pool, gold tile in the bathrooms, flamingo pink patio set, palm tree print closet… right up my alley. More images of this funky house at Desire to Inspire.

I’ve been waiting and waiting for Friday to come. Nothing special happening this weekend other than not having to get dressed for work. Not into it these days. I want my leggings that I can pull over my belly and up to my chest and my slippers, that’s it. Oh and my husband’s hot chocolate, gotta have that.
Have a great Friday and a happy weekend everyone, xoxo.
