Mint has been dubbed the official color of Spring 2012…
And I made a cake to celebrate!

I made this Chocolate Ganache cake with Peppermint Frosting for a dinner I was invited to by Lauren DeSantis, the DC Supper Club host for the Tri-Lamb Group supper club series. I had such a blast at the dinner, everything, especially Lauren’s braised lamb shanks, was delicious! Lauren is pretty amazing; not only is she an attorney, but she is also the host and producer of Capital Cooking, (her very own T.V. show!) and the author of Capital Cooking Cookbook. I will be sharing the recipe for this cake on her blog very soon. UPDATE: Find the recipe HERE!

I enlisted the expertise of the nicest pic-taker in DC, Sebastian Marin for my cake photos. He is a very talented photographer (with fancy equipment and a gorgeous macro lens) and my cake has never looked so good! Sebastian and my cakes will be seeing more of each other very soon…

You seriously wow me with your baking skills!! That cake looks amazing with all of that texture and that pretty color.
I only have a shirt so far.
I’ve declared mint to be my color for the season too! I’m on the lookout for pants, shoes, a handbag and maybe a skirt or dress in that color.
The cable knit sweater and cake go so well together. I ordered a sweater with my work logo and it appeared teal. It is mint. I’m glad to hear mint is in this season, otherwise I may have never worn the sweater.
Love it!
Love the cake! So beautiful and delicious. Thanks so much for being a part of the Lamb Dinner.
Do I see sparkles on that cake? Simply beautiful! It makes me want to find something minty to wear this spring.
Beautiful cake. I love how you get inspiration from fashion and turn it into an amazing cake. I’m excited to read the recipe.
absolutely remarkable!
OMG Simple Gorg!
Beautiful! I can’t wait to rock some mint green this spring. I want to taste one of your cakes soon!
This is incredible! You’re so talented
Thank you all so much! I found mint colored sprinkles at Michaels and had to toss them on the cake for the “beadwork”;) xoxo

AMAZING! As always! But so beautiful – and perfectly on-trend. Love mint right now!
love it! love you!
Wow, I just love how a trend goes from the runway to gorgeous cakes! And mint is one of my favourite flavours (although my friends say I might as well eat toothpaste). You are clearly very talented, and so is your photographer friend!
Love,
