Celebrity Homes

I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you’re well rested and ready to start the last week of January and the first week of Feb, 2012.  I didn’t get to all the things I wanted to this weekend because of some unexpected time spent at work, but that’s the way life goes.

I’ve had houses on my mind lately as certain lives and homes are fusing later on this year.  Relocating is on the horizon, possibly minor (as in, same building, bigger apartment) and potentially major (as in, all bets are off and the world is our oyster).

I’m always curious to see where some celebrities call home.   After searching though Hooked on Houses, a seriously addictive site, these are some of my faves…

Kim K’s house – I’m not a huge fan of her personally but I can’t deny the allure of her lifestyle.  I could definitely live in a Mediterranean villa like hers, if even just for the outdoor space…

By contrast, I have always been a fan of J.Lo’s.  I know we aren’t supposed to call her that anymore, but that’s the “phase” of her that I loved.  Her home is romantic and feminine, the soft hues are so nice, especially the powder blue kitchen…

I also like Rachel Zoe’s house, more the outside than the inside I think.  Not sure how I feel about a mirrored wall in the nursery.

Taylor Swift’s home has a very mature style.  These are my two favorite rooms:

Gweneth Paltrow’s Tribeca penthouse seems a bit clinical to me; the entry to what I assume is her master bedroom is more romantic though.

Christina Aguilera’s decorating style is a bit too much, even for me.  But I’m a sucker for pink Mediterranean-style houses.  And I admit, it would be pretty cool to have an in-home salon.

Update/addition: My girlfriend Lily just showed me Dita von Teese’s house and I just love her adorable kitchen!  Had to add the pics.  Thanks Lily! (by the way Lily, come over Super Bowl Sunday at whatever time, there will be a mixer;)

Dita von Teese’s house is the best, art deco and the exposed shoe shelf is to die for, i’m redoing and expanding my closet and office alcove if you ever want to do a blog entry on them or my place in general, lemme know:
