I had a total blast this weekend, so many great events, so many wonderful people! Friday night was so much fun at the Corcoran’s NOW at Night. Hung out with friends, made some new ones and ate some/lots of artistic cookies!
Saturday morning was the Stop Modern Slavery Walk which was awesome. The performers were inspiring, the speakers were powerful and everyone there was enthusiastic and passionate about ending human trafficking. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who made this event so successful!!
I had the extreme pleasure of talking at length with Idan Raichel, an amazing Israeli singer and songrwriter who performed at the Walk. If you haven’t yet heard about The Idan Raichel Project, I highly suggest you check it out; his music is incredible. I also went to see him perform that night with India.Arie at the Strathmore in Bethesda. India is just beautiful all around – her voice, her spirit and her message. It was wonderful meeting them and hearing them perform, I had chills the entire time.
Straight after the Walk that afternoon, I headed to Georgetown to attend the Lucky Magazine LOFT opening in Georgetown with Lacey from A Lacey Perspective. It was fantastic catching up with some local bloggers, sipping on some bubbly and snacking on Georgetown Cupcake’s mini cupcakes. I loved meeting Waverly from Pich & Roor, both her and her blog are adorable! Thank you for the pics Waverly, looking forward to seeing you at the next CapFabb event!!
Sunday came early. It was a gorgeous day for a drive down to Baltimore to help my grandmom celebrate her 79th birthday, Happy Birthday MomMom:)
I also wanted to mention a couple events coming up in the area…

2. Little Malaika International Boys & Girls Multi-Cultural Pageant
My girlfriend Christelle is hosting an international boys & girls multi-cultural pageant through RACINES Heritage Foundation (RHF). It is a competition for kids, age 6 to 10 to showcase cultural heritage in the United States and promote multi-cultural exchange among communities. Another focus of the event is to help raise resources and funds for scholarships to support girls’ education and Special Ed for children with Autism in Côte d’Ivoire. As many of you know, Côte d’Ivoire just experienced a civil war and needs alot of help rebuilding. The competition will be held on December 17th in Rockville, MD. Please check out Little Malaika website and eventbrite page for more information.
There are many more things happening around DC in the next couple weeks! What are you all doing for Halloween? I’m going to BYT’s Party at the Newseum on Friday night, so excited:) I love BYT, especially Svetlana, she’s my fave:)
