Every year in DC, mixologists from the city’s best restaurants and lounges compete to create the most artistic martini, inspired by works in the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s collection. These works will be on view during the 1869 Society’s ARTINI benefit on Saturday, April 2, where D.C.’s favorite artini and the Critics’ Choice selection will be announced. I have my ticket and am excited for this year’s event.
Throughout March, each of the 12 participating venues host one feature night where you can sample their “artini” and they will donate 20% of its bar sales to support upcoming exhibitions at the Corcoran. Although March is more than half over, there are still 5 feature nights left.
Tonight I’ll be joining some girlfriends at Potenza to sample their artini inspired by this piece:
James Hyde, Ratchet, 1995
oil paint, glass and silicone
Mmmmm, looks yummy…!
p.s. You can find the recipes for the martinis in the pics above on Tastespotting! (just do a search for martini:)
