I threw my first holiday party this past December.  I underestimated the amount of work, fun and broken champagne glasses there would be….

It was an intimate gathering of girls (at first) and I live in a studio apartment so, I do mean intimate.  There was a lot of cleaning and decorating involved…

even the powder room sparkled…

Just when I was about to have a freak out about how quickly time was passing, my best girlfriend arrived.  She drove up from Charlotte to help me party-prep.  She took these photos too! Love you girl!

We got busy preparing the food…

We had prosciutto and basil crostini…

and hummus with pita and veggies…

We fixed other things too, like smoked salmon with black pepper potato chips and lemon crème fraîche and a variety of meats and cheeses. 

We also had a dessert table…

 There were vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, white chocolate dipped Oreos, custom M&Ms (thank you Brad!) and various chocolate candies… 

I just loved my gold “A” napkins!

 And to drink we had pomegranate champagne punch and lots of champagne…

Asti is present at any and every occasion…

And then it was time to party!  It was a fantastic night, a late night too… Some people didn’t leave until after 3am. I think a total of 5 champagne glasses were dropped, at least one by me.  The food was a hit and so was the music mix I had playing (guests even liked the few Justin Bieber songs I snuck in;)  Even though I needed a few chill days to recover, I’m planning to do another party this summer… this time with margaritas!
